My playlist - Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan

Khadki diary

Jaihind is a old non-descript theatre opposite Khadki station. It will be safe to say that, jiska koi theatre nahi hota hain uska jaihind hota hain, because it is possible to get a movie ticket here in the first week unlike many others in Pune. The Parking lot bears a warning that "Krupya Riksha Aat AaNu Naye" (Don't being Auto-Rickshaws inside). Need I say more :D

---

A good place to spend time when you are waiting for the movie show to begin, is Khadki Bazaar, about 2 kms from Khadki station. It is like a quintessential Indian market place with shops and hawkers living in cheek-by-jowl. There is an Army Stores in Khadki, which the shop owner proudly said is the only one in that area. However, he said that the army stuff is sold only to the men in uniform. What I didn't understand is how such shop was set up in a civilian area.

The movie I watched was "Lage Raho Munnabhai". Sequels are generally a tough act to follow, and inevitably, they fail because comparisons are made with the prequel and, the novelty of the characters has worn off. But LRM is an exception. The comic capers are there but also lie some serious messages for today's India. It is difficult to make an entertaining movie with a serious message and that too, as a sequel.

The performances are top notch. Sanjay Dutt is playing the role which is always meant for him, and Arshad Warsi, who got a new lease of screen life with the prequel is great. Vidya Balan with those looks and powerful eyes simply breezes through her role. You will like the way she says "Good Morning, Mumbaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii".

Dilip Prabhavalkar is the "vinamra" and likeable Mahatma. Boman Irani and others, add to the fun.

Rajkumar Hirani, take a bow.
