From the other side of the world

It has been more than 96 hours since I arrived at LAX, by Lufthansa via Frankfurt. The clean streets of California are a nice change from the dust & heat of Pune. In these surroundings, you wonder why you are visiting here for work, and not just for relaxing.

Driving is a breeze here, no changing gears, just use the brake & accelerator. There is something called "Right of way", which means exactly that unlike in India. The 12-lane freeways can however be unnerving for somebody who doesn't usually drive beyond two lane roads.

After about 2/3 days of cold weather, it is a nice sunny day today. Hopefully, it should stay like that over the weekend. More later :-)

In the morning, there was a news report on TV about Stephen Hawking taking a zero gravity flight. It seemed quite an experience for the man who perhaps knows more about space-time, relativity etc. than any other living person, and is bound by the wheelchair because of Motor Neuron disease.

Revival

No, I don't suffer from paraskavedekatriaphobia.
That is why I have chosen this day to revive this blog.

A lot of water has flowed under the Mula since I last blogged.

1. Abhiash (or Abhiwarya, depending on your preference) now
has the same acceptance as a Brangelina or TomKat.
2. The Superman from Hong Kong has sold his prized Cheeka
for a bomb. Perhaps, the "You and I, in this beautiful world"
ads will be gone sooner rather than later.
3. SRK is at his usual comic best on KBC. Like teasing a young
female doctor that "If the doctor is beautiful, keep the apple away,
and more so if she is an eye doctor" instead of "An apple a day keeps
a doctor away".
4. "Ooh Aah India" has suddenly acquired a different meaning.
Indian cricket is looking more & more like English football with media
hype & non-performing stars.
5. The traffic situation in Pune has got worse, and so on.

I promise to write here regularly henceforth. So, keep the faith.
